Listening to the music of old movies about
the Orient as a place of eternal mystery, intrigue, exoticism and romance. In
the dark movie theatre, ready to be mesmerized by the scores that take us to
faraway places and forgotten times.
"Próximo Oriente" is a show
broadcasted on Rádio Macau about what "Asia" or "oriental"
convey in musical terms. It consists on weekly expeditions in search of
representations of the Orient, an image constructed and fantasised through
sound. We will be wandering across different soundscapes and exoticisms, under
the spell of music from far away places.
