For the 10th chapter, we turn to the celestial harmonies of Asian music, an ancient tradition going back to 1500 B.C., the Hindu scriptures, the Classics of Confucius’ time, the chants of Buddhism, the Arabic and Islamic influences. Music of evocative quiescence, away from the madding crowd, contemplative and silent. A spiritual escape of mysticism and magic.

"Próximo Oriente" is a show broadcasted on Rádio Macau about what "Asia" or "oriental" convey in musical terms. It consists on weekly expeditions in search of representations of the Orient, an image constructed and fantasised through sound. We will be wandering across different soundscapes and exoticisms, under the spell of music from far away places.
